La planimetria della casa si adegua alla topografia del terreno della collina, gli ambienti interni risultano splittati in una serie di livelli corrispondenti con le curve altimetriche del sito mentre il blocco edilizio contenente le camere staziona sopra il livello roccioso e fornisce una varietà di viste verso il mare.

La disposizione planimetrica della casa risponde al carattere del sito, l'aspetto più distintivo ed impegnativo della costruzione è il tetto facettato in diverse pendenze ispirato dall'andamento delle rocce di granito presenti tutto intorno alla costruzione.

Dall'esterno l'abitazione si legge come un altro sperone roccioso.
Avvicindandosi da sopra, il tetto scanalato esposto all'esterno riflette la luce solare, mentre verso l'interno le falde formando un angolo, come quello di una tenda, la luce del giorno sommata alla luce riflessa dalle rocce di granito si combinano in un piacevole bagliore diffuso conferendo agli spazi una maggiore fluidità. Le pareti della cucina e del salotto orientate a sud ed est sono completamente vetrate e caratterizzate da grosse cornici in legno. Il soffitto appare leggero su questi lati della casa, appoggiato sul camino in pietra e per il resto sorretto da leggere colonne in acciaio spazzolato, i suoi piani inclinati sottolineano la linea del mare all'orizzonte.

Il tetto forma con le pareti una serie di spazi vetrati di risulta che permettono alla luce e alla vista di penetrare la casa in tutta la sua profondità.

English text:
The house is built into the topography in a series of split levels directly relating to the ground levels outside. Interlocking rooms step over the rocky site providing a variety of views to sea.
The form of the house responds to the character of the site, the most distinctive and challenging aspect being the faceted concrete roof inspired by the granite rock formation around it. From the outside it reads like another outcrop. Approached from above the chamfered concrete roof is exposed on the outside where it sparkles in the sunlight. To the inside it forms an angled, tent-like ceiling, the reflective mica of the granite aggregate reflecting light throughout the day and giving a soft glow to the flowing spaces.

The kitchen and living room walls are fully glazed with heavy timber frames along their Southern and Eastern edges. The concrete ceiling appears light on these sides, anchored by an exposed in situ concrete chimney and resting on lines of slender steel columns, its tilted planes emphasize the horizontal line of the distant sea horizon. The roof floats clear of the internal walls of the house with a series of glazed clerestories allowing daylight and views to penetrate the depth of the house.

A close working relationship with the builders allowed the precise detail of the concrete construction to be controlled and the complex shuttering patterns were worked through a series of cardboard models, kept in the site office during that phase of the work.
