Located between Roissy and Meaux in the Seine and Marne, the site’s principal interest was its form and position: the ground slopes 3 metres towards the west, offering a beautiful view of the neighboring hills. The company’s needs were twofold: an area for offices, and a studio and stockage area. The office areas needed to be flexible. The result was an approach that optimized the work conditions, in terms of light, ventilation and sound travel.

Our solution was to create two volumes, situated perpendicularly on a North-South axis, following the ground to create a hierarchical relationship with the volumes. The offices occupied the higher spaces of the site, lifting off the ground to give the impression of lightness. The workspace was located lower, and followed the ground itself, like an anchor.

The intersection of the two volumes served as the entrance, with a light ramp climbing into the building’s interior. The idea was also to erase the distinctions between the different kind of work, by removing corridors, so that all the transitions also served as gathering spaces, or waiting rooms.
