L’ intervento di “sostituzione” nel piccolo centro storico di Leffe nella Val Seriana, in un lotto stretto fra due edifici contigui, ha previsto la totale demolizione della costruzione preesistente e la completa ricostruzione della nuova.

Le particolari condizioni del sito, le distanze da rispettare nei confronti di un sistema articolato di edifici circostanti, ha portato all’ipotesi di un fronte molto frastagliato sul lato di ingresso. Tale faccia posta a stretto contatto con gli altri prospetti finestrati, è immaginata completamente murata e chiusa alla vista; solo delle piccole fessure orizzontali creano un disegno, una trama la cui suggestiva icona di riferimento è il fienile lombardo.

Il fronte posteriore è caratterizzato da una ampia vetrata il cui oscuramento è garantito da una serie di persiane in rame acidato che si “appacchettano” completamente, liberando la vetrata retrostante e aprendo una prospettiva sulla a valle.

The “replacement” project in the small town of Leffe in the Seriana Valley, on a narrow plt between two adjacent buildings has entailed the complete demolition of an existing building and the complete reconstruction of a new one.
The particular conditions of the site, the distances that had to be respected in relation to a complex system of surrounding buildings, has led to the hypothesis of a very irregular front on the entrance side. This façade, that is in close contact with other elevations with windows, is conceived as a continuous wall without any view, with the exception of small horizontal fissures that create a pattern, a web inspired by another fascinating icon, the Lombard barn.
The rear front is dominated by a large glazed front, shaded by a series of Venetian blinds in acid-treated copper that fold to disappear completely, freeing the window behind and revealing a view of the valley.
